How to de-junk a strawberry nose [Picture tutorial]

August 10, 2010 12:15 am · 3,400 Views · Posted by Regis

Heh heh, I'll admit that I'm one of those people who have... or had, a very promiscuous strawberry nose. If you guys dunno what it is...

.. nope, it's not this.

But this!

Blackheads and gunk monsters!

It's due to all those years of oil, dirt, dead skin cells, etc. that I've accumulated without doing anything to clear them. Not forgetting to mention that I have a very crude facial routine of only washing my face with a facial cleanser (and sometimes bar soap =___=). No exfoliation, no toning, no moisturizing... not until recently when I've started exfoliating and doing weekly mud masks. So it's expected that my nose will look like that!

But recently, I've discovered a very effective way of getting rid of my fruit-ified nose! Thanks to my good pal, Naphula (she blogged about it here), and Chantana's pore strips! Here's a step-by-step breakdown on how I do it, and I'm featuring it cos it's just so fun to peel off the nose strip and look at all the gunk monsters trapped there! 8D

My bare face, just after my weekly mud mask. Feel so unglam, showing you guys my ugly, non made-up face.

Take a cotton ball and wet it. The secret weapon comes up next...

...and ta da! It's Mario Badescu's silver (awesome vacuuming) powder! Have it in Sephora's little sample jar~

Dip your wet cotton ball in it...

...and start smearing it all over your nose!

Wait for 10-15 mintues for it to dry, and it will be like so. While it dries, you'll feel a slight tugging sensation on your nose but that the powder doing its mojo.

Then wipe it off with toner, and voila! You can actually see the ugly gunk people poking out! How awesome is that??

Use any pore strip right after that; I was using the awesome strips that Chantana recommended us. And it's so cheap too!

Wait for it to dry... Then comes the fun part! I dunno about you guys, but I like to slowly peel the strip off gingerly while wincing at the pain and eyeing at the embedded gunk monsters.

Here's an extra large picture of all the stuff I got from my nose! Eww!!! But so shiok, ah ha ha ha! xD

That's actually my 3rd time doing this routine, so my nose has already been cleared up quite a lot. The first time I tried this, you won't believe how over-crowded the nose strip was! I was showing everyone in my family the disgusting thing - my dad took a glance and refused to look at it anymore.

And the end result is a much cleaner nose, cleared of many of its strawberry seeds~

You should try the holy grail duo - silver powder + pore strip = your life will never be the same again (or at least, your nose for the time being)

Hope you guys enjoyed this picture tutorial, cheers! xD

@ gwen: Ohh gosh, I can't believe how late I discovered this method, cos it's friggin' awesome! And Gwen, your nose must be baby smooth and so clean now! Laughing out loud

@ blushaphoria: Ha ha, yes, the 2 items work together to give amazing results! You should try it too! Smiling

@ michelle: Ngah ha, time to try it again? This time try pairing it with the MB's powder = jjang~

@ rusty: Heh, no prob sweetie! The sample pot I got was actually self-helped when I was working in Sephora, I don't think MB actually gives out silver powder samples. What you can do is go to Sephora and request a sample of it in the pot, or buy it on sg_beauty - a full 5g pot of powder for about S$5.

@ zaleha: Ha ha, you're a fan too? I think 1 packet of 10 strips is enough to last me quite a while though. Watsons however is still selling them, but they're running out fast, so better go grab them! xD

@ noppi: Ah ha ha, I love that strawberry pic too, so cute~ These pore strips work very well with the silver powder, maybe you can try it with the powder, or maybe you didn't wait for it to dry completely..? Cos there's this 1 time I was impatient and pulled it off before it dried, and nothing came out. Must wait till it's totally stiff before yanking it off. Smiling

@ Fatin: It's fantastic right? I didn't know abt it until Naphula started raving abt this and then I went online and searched. Apparently, a lot of people find this method works amazingly well for them. If I do need to purchase MD's silver powder in the future, I'll go to you cos I heard you hold MD sprees? Smiling

@ yiqi: Hello new friend! Laughing out loud Gosh, yesss, these are real sticky! They're a lot thicker too since they feel cottony instead of flimsy, and when you pluck them off! Whooo, the pain! It hurts but it's so shiok (or maybe that just the masochistic side of me)! Yay, we're gunk monster eliminators in arms~

@ aynie and redberried: Yay, you guys should really go try it - you'll be amazed! Try purchasing sample pots from sg_beauty first if you don't wanna commit to a full-sized pot. And no prob abt me sharing, cos I love to tell my fellow onsugarettes items that work real good!

@ zaleha: Ha ha, same same! Fetish, much? Laughing out loud

regis: haha, i think i feel happy knowing that the gunk is no longer on my nose so we tend to be happy to see them all on the pore strip Smiling

@ mitzylindsay: Hello there~ Erm, I can't remember how much the full-sized tub is selling for in Sephora, if I'm not wrong it's S$68..? I'm not sure though, you can always pop down to check. But the prices in Sephora is usually marked up very high, so it's definitely a lot cheaper to order it online. Smiling
