About Me

NOTD and Urban Decay

August 12, 2010 1:11 am · 688 Views · Posted by Regis

It's been quite a while since I've last done a proper NOTD - my job didn't allow my nail colours to last, that's why I didn't bother.

This time it's a green abstract kind of design...?

I dunno, I wasn't planning to do any designs but I wanted to use the Etude House nail varnishes that I got in M'sia, so before I knew it, my hands were busy drawing crazy stuff on my nails. Hence, the weird and ugly pattern. =___=

All in all, I used 3 different green nail varnishes this time even though it's not very obvious. The pale apple white shade and this teal, blue-green shade are the 2 Etude House varnishes that I hauled previously...

... while the other green side was China Glaze's Emerald Sparkle. It was meant to be one side sparkly forest green while the other a turquoise blue, but in real life the 2 shades really look similar. Epic fail, but at least it's somewhat abstract...? I hope...

Anyway, onto more exciting things!

OH. MAH. GAWD.

Urban Decay's highly anticipated Book of Shadows Vol. III - UD <3 NYC!!!

[Pictures credited to the lovely Temptalia~]

Now, I kinda understand how guys feel when they watch intense porn or something... *hyperventilates*

It's sure going to be sold out or "Stereo Rose-ed" when it reaches our shores. Look at that Alice In Wonderland thing! Another prime example would be UD's newly launched Naked palette, which is practically sold out everywhere in the States and has yet to arrive on our sunny island.

[Temptalia's pics to the rescue!]

It was released on the 29th of June in the States and has been selling like hot cakes since. For SG, it'll be available in Sephora on the 7th of September and I think it's price is gonna be S$77 or something. I'm so hard bent on getting this palette - either I'm asking my ex-colleagues in Sephora to set aside a piece for me, or I'm going to order it online when it becomes available again on the UD website.

The shades are simply gorgeous!!! And so workable too, everyday also can wear~

However, with the new Book of Shadows III coming up... I'm torn! And broke! How?!?! What do you guys think?

The Book Of Shadows reminds me of the this palette from Models Prefer I saw the other day, it's also in a cute popup book format!

I think I will give this a miss. Urban Decay tends to repeat their shades like Midnight Cowboy rides again, Mauie Wowie (which is a gorgeous shade but difficult to work due to fallouts), etc. That said, the packaging is lovely. Oh well, maybe I'll buy it as a collector's item.

So the Naked Palette WILL be here in Singapore?!
7th Sept is still a looong way to go, but at least it's before Hari Raya. I cannot wait!

@ Layla: Ha ha, the design is cute isn't it?? Laughing out loud But I think with all Limited Edition UD palettes, they do come in pop up style e.g. Alice In Wonderland box set. The price however is.... x___x

@ redberried: Oh ho, I see someone being tempted~ Yeah, UD does keep repeating some of their shades, but I think 5 of the shades in the book are actually new ones. Plus I haven't gotten any UD palette so everything will be new to me. So now the question is, will you be getting it since it's LE? Laughing out loud

@ michelle: LOL, omg! Very good self-control! Especially since I read about all your recent hauls and how you keep complaining about spending money. ^__^

@ Fatin: Yes, it will be and 7th Sept actually isn't very far off, just another 3 weeks~ Smiling Suppose that's enough time for us to save the money.

@ Amy: Ahh, thanks! I was a bit disappointed the 2 greens look so similar in the design, but what the heck! And yes, UD = easy on the eyes, definitely not easy on the wallet. ):

@ aynie: Hello sweetie, I'm not sure about the launch date of the Book of Shadows NYC version in SG. They're only launching it in US on 28th Aug, usually SG Sephora will bring the stuff in 1 month -1.5 months later. The price I'm unsure too, but judging from the Alice In Wonderland set, maybe about S$90...? Sorry I wasn't of much help, but do start saving up for this gorgeous palette! Laughing out loud

lol yes that's true...ah the popup boxes & deco are rather useless, altho very cute it takes up space n I suppose works as an ''illusion' of getting more and justifying those *ahem* ridiculous prices! :S

@ Layla: Ha ha, true true... then again, if you compare between getting the individual pans of e/s and getting the palette, it's definitely cheaper to get the palette. Plus it's LE so collector's item..? But for me, I'm more attracted to the sleek Naked palette I guess. =x

@ aynie: Ngah hah, we all have to start saving for these costly babies! Smiling

Regis,

You're wrong... they're doing a special launch/preview in the US on 8/28 ... but it will be available all over in the US first week of September.

@ YouAreWong: Ahh, okay, thanks for correcting me. Smiling I've read that they will be doing the special launch at Sephora Time Square, but I wasn't sure about the rest of the States. But in SG, it'll still be 1 - 1.5 months before we see it here. Anyway, thanks for the amendment and for dropping by! ^__^
