All The Things I Can't Live Without...

I had a fun time reading all of them and collecting the tips. :) I'm so sorry I went MIA the past few days - I went to Malaysia for a short holiday and I've started work as a temp staff in Sephora. Please pardon me if there aren't any new posts for the time being, cos things are kinda hectic currently.

Regarding some of the questions and comments, I've got some replies to them too.

1) First of all, thanks everybody for reminding me to moisturize more and to take care of my things when I'm abroad. I don't really use moisturizer in SG, because the weather is already so humid and hot, so hopefully I'll be able to get into the habit of doing that when I'm in Canada. And I know that SG is crazily safe, so I'd keep an extra eye out for my belongings too.

2) Natassja, thanks for bringing up the underground city! My dad went to the library to borrow some travel guides and he told me about this HUGE underground shopping mall in Montreal. It's like 100 times of Dhoby Exchange or something, and I'm definitely looking forward to visiting there! And yes, my friends and I have already planned to visit the Niagara Falls!

3) As for CP-ing makeup for our fellow onsugarettes, I'm not too keen on it. Several reasons, one being that I'll be abroad for 5 months so you guys would have to wait very long to get your stuff. I also don't think I'm capable enough to hold on to so many requests for such a long period of time. Also, my family and friends have already requested me to bring back stuff for them. It's gonna be very heavy for me. I'm terribly sorry, guys. ): I'd love to, but because of the circumstances, I don't think I would want to.

4) To yurayura, I'm taking the degree in Biological Sciences; though I think you know already, cos you're the one that PM-ed me right? xD

5) To Mya, of course I'm excited to go! Ha ha, I've already gotten my tickets (leaving on the 18th of Aug), so that's gonna be in 2.5 months time. Many things to do before leaving though! And yes, I'll definitely be blogging A LOT on my exchange so look forward to the entries guys! I'm sure the makeup and the places posts will be quite interesting.

6) Lastly to Jen (shimmerpole), I'll try to pick up the Canadian accent if I can, ha ha! Not too optimistic on that, but we'll see. :]

After 5 pm today, the 20th of May 2011, I'll be a free man! YESSSSSSS!!!

Ha ha, I'm going ballistic with excitement just as I'm typing away merrily on my laptop at 2 in the morning~ It's gonna be my last graded paper in NTU, marking the end of my 3rd year and the launch of an exciting 4th year!

Why did I say that? Well, many an exciting things are gonna happen, i.e. I'll be starting on my honours thesis, aka Final Year Project at the 2nd half of my 4th year. That means I'll be attached to some research company/professor and seriously doing some research.

But the more exciting thing would be this:

Yep, I'll be based in Montreal, Canada for 4 whole months. To complete the first half of my 4th year; instead of doing it in NTU, I'll be doing it in McGill University. Plus, I'll be leaving a few weeks before school starts to go to New York for sight seeing (so tentatively I won't be in SG for 5 months).

What it means to me: SHOPPING.

MASSIVE. COSMETICS. CLOTHING. HAULS.

I'm gonna be so broke...

On a side note, here's something I'd like to share:

Missha is back in Singapore??? This small little shop was spotted in White Sands Shopping Mall in Pasir Ris, and it's newly opened! You spot that BA in front of the mirror..? She was preening herself the whole time! I stood there for 10 minutes to snap these pictures, and after I went to Challenger and came back, she was still in front of the mirror, staring fixated at herself. Lol.

The display of cosmetics outside the shop I spot the popular Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, but it's dead expensive (S$60, packaged together with another tube of something-which-I-didn't-see).

If you happen to be at White Sands, it's worth checking out I guess. Just don't buy the stuff there, cos it's cheaper online. :p

Hello everyone!

Despite me being right smack in the middle of my exams, I've decided to hold a giveaway to celebrate having 150 (well, 154 now) followers! Actually I prepared this giveaway a long time ago, but I just got derailed with other stuff. What I'm trying to say is that the follower count doesn't matter to me much, but I just want to show my appreciation to everyone who reads this blog! So after mugging for a good half of today, I joined my family for dinner at Tampines One and I took the opportunity to do a quick LOTD. Or more like Eye-Of-The-Day, since I really didn't do much for my face (just MSF for highlight, no foundation/concealer whatsoever).

I've been into a simple makeup look phase recently - a smudge of eyeliner at the lash base, oodles of mascara, a tiny bit of blush and a matte lippie.

I dunno if it's the same with everyone, but I go through makeup phases like growth stages. For 2 weeks or so, I'll be wearing a particular look everyday, after which I switch to another look and that lasts me for some time too. The last phase I think was the whole gothic, rim-my-eyes-with-tons-of-eyeliner look.

Anyhow, I snapped a few pictures of one of my nowadays routine looks.I actually was quite pleased at how it turned out, cos it's not too overbearing and it's classy enough for a friends gathering.

The eyes:

Ooh, me loves mascara~ And me loves Jones (miwitch) too! Why? Cos the Etude House Tear Drop Liner is the best thing that I've ever received! I've used it in a lot of looks and for different things (the temporary wrist tattoo) and it's awesome! I love how glittery it is. :) As for the lips, I'm wearing Stage's Wonderlust Semi-Matte Lipstick. I love the colour of this lipstick; that's why I wear it out even if it's drying on my lips (can see lah hor, all those lines in my lips).

This was sent by Yippy (gosh, I still haven't asked for her real name) to review some of the cosmetics that she's currently selling on her newly opened blogshop, Under-Twenty20. A few weeks back, she contacted me and asked for my opinion on some of the hotter-selling products in Sephora as well as some advice for her up-and-coming blogshop. For the short time that I've worked at Sephora, I kinda knew what was good and what wasn't so hot, so I just shared with her accordingly, and surprise! She asked me for some product reviewing a week back, and here's the lovely package she sent.

It was a BIG relief to an exam-mangled me and I proceeded excitedly to open the package. All the items, carefully bubble-wrapped in the box!

I'm freaking excited to try the lip products as you guys probably can tell by now I'm a huge eye and lip product fan (all ye' eyeshadows and lip glosses, come to mama!!!). Damn, Yippy is accurate at aiming for my cosmetics soft spot~

As promised, I will be opening the products and reviewing them. If you pop over to her blog, you'll see that she's selling a lot of highly-raved products at very affordable prices (Urban Decay at S$15, OMG!) and there's some concern with the authenticity. I'll be testing and scrutinizing the items so I'll be writing up on how I feel about them and the authenticity on my part. Soon, after my exams I mean. Ha ha, yes, I went to the L'oreal sale again. Something about these two words, "L'oreal" and "Sale" put together makes it irresistible! Even if I've gone a hundred times, I would still go - it is that compelling! But actually, anything with "sale" would make me wanna go..but that's another story for another day.

First up, I'll like to share with you the freebies I've received from Regina (littlefrozengirl)! She had a little impromptu contest sometime ago, on guessing what e/s she had on in a particular EOTD, and I guessed correctly. :) Ta da, the lovely envelope, which I lovingly ripped apart!

Omg, Coca cola flavoured lipsmackers! I wasn't expecting that at all cos we only entered for the e/s palette. What a nice surprise, ha ha! Of course needless to say, I tore open the packaging and took a whiff of the lip balm.

Smells exactly like the stuff, maybe just a bit "lao hong" (flat on the gas)! Anyway, I'm not planning to use it yet, cos I'm still going through my Korres Lip Butter. But I'm excited!

And the BeautyShe Mini palette! Ha ha, it's so cute and exactly like the Ruby Rose one that I bought earlier this year. I gave that one to my sis to play with though, but I'm definitely keeping this one!

Onto the L'oreal sale, this is all that I got. Heh! *smirks at self-control*

The gold wrapping paper and Re-nutrition shampoo are freebies that I got. And I only spent S$20, like WTH right?

On these two items. They were going for 2 for S$20, so cheap! Plus the freebies, the S$20 was well-spent I must say. I'm LOL-ing at my self-control now, cos I went to the L'oreal sale with the mentality of a man going shopping. I went, made a round, grabbed the items I wanted, made another round to make sure I didn't miss out anything good, then promptly went to the cashier and paid up! Ho ho, it all happened in a mere 45 minutes! I swear if I ever got round to writing a book on how to save, this will be one of the tips inside.

Yeah, I know it's a friggin' free Pepsi Light plastic case. =__= But I like it cos it's transparent, and it's quite spacious. Previously I was using this sanitary pad pouch and it was all pink with flowers and horribly cramped.

Since I've only started on makeup somewhat recently, I haven't really established a makeup arsenal yet, so I just bring whatever I think is good. I usually don't bring any makeup out with me when I go to school (except lip balm), so this bag comes along with me only over the weekends, when I move back to my house in the east from my hostel at the west.
