About Me

NOTD - Grungey Houndstooth

April 2, 2011 5:52 pm · 33 Views · Posted by Regis

It's been a while since I've last sported intricate designs on my nails, partly due to me not having enough time/patience to paint my nails properly and also because I dig solid-coloured nails. :)

But I have been wearing this design for the last 2 weeks (gasp! Broke my 1-week routine) before finally taking it off this weekend!

My left hand:

And my right:

I kinda went asymmetrical by printing the houndstooth design on different fingers on both hands. The gorgeous red colour is OPI's "The Show Must Go On" and the black was some random black (goopy) polish, which I used for my konading.

I love how the red polish flashes orange at certain angles! It's like you're getting a different houndstooth design everytime.

And also how the black design makes the red look more cool-toned while the other fingers look warmer. I'm a sucker for multi-dimensional nail polishes. :)

So a quick update on what I did last Sunday:

I went to donate blood. It's my 7th time and I'm sooo aiming for that 10-time medal, woots! But it was my first time feeling light-headed after the donation. Hmm, normally it doesn't happen; must be due to that time of the month.

And also I made this collage of my cat! (pardon the noob editing skills, I had to make do with whatever basic image programme I had ;__;)

Ha ha, hope you enjoyed this little post! Thanks for looking and take care y'all!

CNY 2011 LOTD Part 2

February 18, 2011 9:33 pm · 28 Views · Posted by Regis

Ha ha, that took quite a while, but let's continue with my CNY LOTDs!

Actually, there's only 1 more but I've got some cute doggie pictures which I can't resist not putting up.

Day 7's LOTD

(cos I finished up my visiting on that day while I slaved away in school on the other days)

Wait... Ha ha, you probably can't see the eye makeup with all my fringe in the way right? xD That's the problem with sporting heavy bangs, the makeup is all lost in the hair. =3=

Close-up of the eye:

It's a super simple look, cos I was in a hurry. Just used a glittery loose eye shadow all over the lids, some highlighting at the tear duct and brow, liquid eyeliner and Silkygirl's purple pencil eyeliner for the bottom lash line!

Here's a better pic, probably you can see the purple tinge more.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, here comes the cute doggy pics! I wore the above look to a relative's place who had Bubbles, the cute tiny short-haired Chi Hua Hua!!!
Ha ha, she kept going round and round in a tizzy fit whenever I stepped into the kitchen, so it was really difficult to snap a cleat shot of her! I had to sit down and wait for a few minutes before she calmed down.
After which, she came snuggling up to me~
(aww.. bulbous eyes, how cute!)
And the epitome of the fondness we had for each other.
I pushed her away cos I didn't want her consuming all my BB cream and loose powder, but she seems to have taken a liking to the taste of cosmetics?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ha ha, last but not least, the nail colours I was sporting for that CNY week:

ORLY's "Space Cadet" on my fingers, and a bronzey-olive nail polish from Skin Food on my toes.

I love it when "Space Cadet" changes its colour to kinda match my toe nails. It's quite amusing, though it makes me look retarded (kept staring at my nails).

I'm trying my best to keep the posts coming despite my heavy school workload, but thanks for popping by and viewing this entry!

Self-designed 2011 Organizer

[Non cosmetics post]

I'm someone who's always itching to make stuff and personalize things. Blame it on me being a girl, or on my mom's art-driven genes. I adored art lessons in primary and secondary school; I taught myself how to draw anime/manga since I was 8 years old; I "zhnged" my own pair of Cotton On flats; I still do love drawing scientific images (nothing like 'em cells!) - I guess makeup was an eventual thing for me, cos it's a form of art too!

Anyway, back to the topic. It started when I got myself an organizer on Gmarket back in December last year. Decided to be more organized, cos I'm always messy and losing track of things.

Here it is; a beautiful diary imported from Korea that cost me S$12.50 (I figured I'd be more motivated to write in it if I found it attractive =x).

Chocopen~~~

Gawd, how I love the cream colour of the jacket and the cute motifs at the bottom. The inside is cute too, the paper quality good and a small slip of stickers was also included. IMO, it was a good buy!

Ha ha, I was so looking forward to using it this year... when I received another 2011 organizer. -___-

It's just a simple black one from Daiso; I got that during a Daiso gift exchange during one of the christmas gatherings I attended. I'm afraid I don't have the picture to show you guys, but it's really plain and the paper quality isn't that good (hey, it's only S$2). But being the miser that I am, I wanted to use it and not let go to waste.

Thus, I decided to dress it up and save the good Korean diary for 2012 (provided the world doesn't end. In that case, we wouldn't need an organizer anymore, would we?) Ta daa!! My handiwork. :)

The insides:

(see my "bua hiao bai-ness"?? ha ha ha xD)

I couldn't stand how plain and boring it was, so I pasted a ton of pictures of the things I loved most. :) At least the diary attracts me to write in it now. Hurrah to personalization!! Thanks for viewing this post people, take care!

P.S. Just an ironic picture I'd like to share with you~ :)

Ha ha ha, I love my cat~

A Dedication... (Non-cosmetic related)

October 26, 2010 1:50 am · 91 Views · Posted by Regis

Today marks exactly one year since my beloved pooch, Mickey, has passed away.

He's moved on to a nicer place on 26/10/2009, a place filled with bak kwa and dried cuttlefish strips (his favourite snacks) and days filled with constant walks and snoozing in the sun.

I loved how his eyes shone green instead of red when we snapped pictures of him. Red-eyed dogs just scares me, but Mickey was too cute to be scary.

I literally grew up with him, cos -->> *insert Taylor Swift's "Love Story" song* we were both young when I first saw you~ Ha ha, that was when my parents and I went to his mommy's place to pick out puppies, and we choose him out of a litter of 5-6 pups. I was 6 years old then, and he was a newborn who could barely open his little beady eyes.

Being with Mickey for 15 years made it impossible for me to forget even the minute details about him..

.. I loved his big, black, wet nose with its rough textured whorls and nostrils.

.. I loved his soft, glimmering fur that had waves at his thigh area.

.. I loved his twirly-patterned fur at his backside and his snubby tail.

.. I loved how he drooled and begged for food whenever the family is having dinner.

And I loved how well he got along with my cat, Mocha.

Towards the end, we saw him grow weaker and weaker as he battled age and his failing body. But he still had an immensely powerful fighting spirit, never letting it get him down. He even begged for food scraps at the dining table during his last few days!

He fought to the end when we decided to put him to sleep to ease his suffering. And I'm proud that my dog was such a fighter. I never really cried when I knew he was gone, cos I knew he had a good life for 15 long years and he wouldn't have any regrets going.

Ha ha, in fact, I still joke about how he seems to be lingering in the house whenever there's a sudden stench in the house. "Wahh, did Mickey just fart in spirit or something?"

Whatever it is, I still love my dog Mickey and I still miss him dearly, especially on this day. I hope he's still having fun in doggy heaven.

xoxo,

your 'sister' and playmate
