L'Officiel's Ed. Pinaud Eyeshadow Quad

Alrighty, I jumped onto the bandwagon and got myself one of the Ed. Pinaud Quads as well. I've never gotten this magazine before and I really wanted some of the quads, so I panicked a bit on where to get them. But I popped by the 7-11 near my block in Pasis Ris and I caught the SPH man stocking up the magazine! Ha ha, talk about fate!

And I even got one of the quads which I wanted, which is No. 5 Blue Black. The entire packaging looks so exquisite, from the white coloured cardboard box with the EP logo, to the black case with gold lettering and the golden quad itself. The mirror is fantastic - it's huge and since the quad looks so good, I think it'll make a very nice compact mirror too.

Pigmentation is not bad. The dark purplish-blue hue looks amazingly suited for a smokey eye.

And so I tried on the eyeshadow on one eye. Sorry I didn't do up my whole face - I wasn't going out anywhere today and I really wanted to give my skin a rest without any makeup.

Heh, the quad's not bad at all right? Though the blue tends to melt away into the black and it appears as more of a silver-black smokey eye.

I'm still eyeing -no pun intended- the No.2 Emerald Quad so I shall pop by Kino soon to see if they sort the magazines according to colours. :} Btw, Cheers at Downtown East carries the magazine too, so if anyone wants to get it there, you can~ Cheers everyone!

Online and Tampines Central Haul

March 3, 2010 11:07 pm · 47 Views · Posted by Regis

I went to Tampines Central yesterday with the main aim of going to Ta Zhiang, after seeing adorebeauty's fantastic looks with the frosty (cheap) eyeshadows.

But first! My small online spree stuff came, whee!

Second shirt says: "In French, please~" :D

I bought these 2 T-shirts from Urban Outfitters for S$15 each (inclusive of shipping). These are comfortably thin and super suited for weather like ours. Another thing I like about American T-shirt designs is that they tend to be longer at the torso but more fitting at the shoulders, which suits me better. I always find that local T-shirts are too short at the torso, maybe because they are targeted at the more petite while I'm bigger than the norm.

Also, I got 2 samples of the (in)famous UDPP. I've been dying to try this out and compare it with my e.l.f eyelid primer, so with each at a dollar, why not? However, when I depotted the samples, they were abysmally little in quantity! Lemme show ya'...

LOL! That's a 5g pot that I bought at Tampines Central (more on that later). I was hoping I could fill up at least a corner with the sample but... all I got was the peas-sized amount clinging pitifully at the rim. You could see the samples opened up like those contact lens sachets, and inside was just a pathetic smear of UDPP. Like someone in the factory line took their finger, dipped it in a magical cauldron full of UDPP and for every empty sachet that came down the production line, they PIAK! Smeared a streak with their finger. That was how I felt when I opened those things...

Ahh well, can't expect much from a sample - if it's good enough for me to try the UDPP a few times, I'm satisfied.

Moving on with the mini haul from Tampines Central! As you know, I got the 5g pots...

And... Garnier Fructis Hair Recovery Shampoo (gosh, this makes me sound like I'm balding... I'm not, please!)

And since I was eyeing the Ta Zhiang eyeshadows, I got a mini palette just to try out and play with the colours. The BeautyShe ones that I wanted were sold out so I got this brand instead.

Ruby Rose Mini Palette for S$2.90. See how small the palette is? It's like the size of my pinky finger and it's downright cute!

Funnily enough, it claims to be distributed in Canada. I was puzzled, how can a local brand like this be sold in "Canada, Paris, New York, London and Roma"?? (What the hell is Roma anyway? Rome??) Ha ha, only God knows how true this is!

As usual, pigmentation is mad crazy! That was only 1 moderate rub on each square of colour, and they are super frosty too! Nice~

With those fingers, I just swiped them on my other hand and they came off all smoothly and intense. I shall have fun playing with this cheapo palette! :D

Hope you enjoyed reading this post, take care~
